Tilray Brands Sees Alcohol Sales Under Pressure, Cannabis on the Upswing -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-01

8:50 ET -- Tilray Brands' beverage division continues to face headwinds, with 4Q sales declining despite the company's expanding portfolio of craft beer and spirits labels, including SweetWater Brewing, Montauk Brewing and Alpine Beer. Tilray has doubled down on the category through acquisitions, most recently buying BrewDog's operations in the U.K., Ireland and Australia, but the segment remains pressured as demand for alcohol softens globally. Net beverage sales fell to $42.6 million from $55.9 million a year earlier. Cannabis, however, was a bright spot. Sales surged, led by strong international performance alongside gains in Canadian medical and adult-use markets. (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
