North Atlantic Treaty Organization Secretary-General Mark Rutte is scheduled to meet with President Trump on Wednesday in Washington, D.C., the alliance said. Rutte will also meet with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. A day after the meeting, Rutte will give a speech at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute. Then, he'll attend the Bilderberg Meeting-an annual forum to foster dialogue between Europe and North America-from April 10 to April 12.
Rutte's visit to Washington comes as Trump and his aides have been discussing whether the U.S. should remain in NATO, though the Senate Majority Leader has said there was little appetite among Senate Republicans to pull the U.S. out of NATO. Trump has been infuriated with allies for not helping with the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
