Nike Has Yet to Show That a Turnaround is on Horizon -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-03

1520 ET - UBS analysts say they see no reason to buy Nike's stock, even though some may argue that the athleticwear brand's weak guidance has reset expectations, presenting a low entry point to buy the stock as momentum could build into its analyst day that will likely happen in the fall. "There have been many points over the last 4 years where it has seemed like Nike's business would inflect over the NTM. Yet, it still hasn't happened," they say, forecasting that Nike's earnings per share will likely to regress to a level not seen in over 10 years in fiscal 2026. "We think Nike is a show-me stock and we haven't yet seen enough from the company to believe a turnaround is imminent." (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
