CN Posts Record Grain Movement in March

MT Newswires Live04-03

CN (CNI) reported Thursday it moved a record 2.96 million metric tonnes of grain from Western Canada in March, driven by strong export demand and the seasonal reopening of the Port of Thunder Bay.

The railway company said it was able to restore network velocity after weather events temporarily affected terminal capacity in Vancouver and the Prince Rupert corridor.

The recovery also contributed to the record grain movement in March, it added.
