The volumes we previously sourced from the Middle East have been redirected to other countries, such as the U.S., Australia, and several others,” Bahlil said at the Energy Ministry office in Jakarta on Monday.The government has also taken similar steps to ensure the reliability of crude oil supplies. Crude imports that were previously sourced from the Middle East have now been redirected to Angola, Nigeria, and other African countries, he said.“At present, our energy reserves remain at the national minimum stock level, so, God willing, the situation is under control,” Bahlil added.Earlier, the government said it was preparing long-term LPG import contracts with several countries to maintain national energy supply stability amid global geopolitical tensions.Speaking at a plenary cabinet meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on March 13, Bahlil said the move was part of the government’s contingency strategy to ensure LPG supplies remain secure even as import sources shift away from the Middle East.Indonesia currently sources around 70 to 75 percent of its LPG imports from the United States, about 20 percent from the Middle East, and the remainder from several other countries, including Australia.In addition to LPG, the government said diesel fuel supplies are currently secure, as national demand can now be fully met through domestic production.For crude oil, roughly 20 percent of Indonesia’s imports had previously come from the Middle East.
