Celsys (TYO:3663) said its annual recurring revenue (ARR) for Clip Studio Paint subscriptions reached a record 5.83 billion yen in March, boosted by a major software update, according to a Tuesday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Clip Studio Paint Ver. 5.0 update drove sales to more than 150% of plan and lifted subscription growth to a three-year high. The churn rate rose to 5.4% from 4.3% a month earlier, while total platform users reached 12.3 million, with 265,000 new registrations in March.
Subscription sales rose to 485 million yen and tool sales to 352 million yen, helping push overall revenue to a record on a three-month moving average basis.
