Travel Agencies' AI Tools Seen as Slow to Catch on with Consumers -- Market Talk
Dow Jones04-08
Agentic AI travel booking is likely to have a bigger impact on corporate travel than leisure at first, D.A. Davidson analysts say. Booking's Kayak brand recently launched an AI tool designed to act as a travel assistant and planner. Consumers who are booking leisure trips tend to feel there is more at stake when planning travel and are often afraid to book a flight on their phones, whereas corporate customers know exactly what they want, the analysts say. "It's not really clear to the Kayak team when travelers will be ready to book a leisure trip/vacation fully agentic," the analysts say. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
