Amazon-backed (AMZN) Anthropic said Tuesday that it is launching a new initiative called Project Glasswing, after the company observed its frontier model Claude Mythos Preview exceeding "most skilled humans" at finding and exploiting software vulnerabilities.
The initiative brings together the company and Apple (AAPL), Broadcom (AVGO), Cisco (CSCO), CrowdStrike (CRWD), Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google, JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Microsoft (MSFT), Nvidia (NVDA), Palo Alto Networks (PANW), Amazon Web Services, and Linux Foundation, Anthropic said.
With Claude Mythos Preview able to detect "thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities, including some in every major operating system and web browser," the launch partners will use Mythos Preview as part of their defensive security work, Anthropic said.
The AI company further said it is committing about $100 million in usage credits for Mythos Preview, along with another $4 million in direct donations to open-source security organizations.
