Panasonic (TYO:6752) is using TikTok and other social media to protect its brand reputation amid a surge of counterfeit products and fraudulent ads across social media, Nikkei Asia reported on Tuesday.

In China, Panasonic's consumer electronics company's intellectual property division created a mock drama video for TikTok to illustrate the dangers of unreliable fakes, the publication said.

The company has posted similar awareness videos using a mock drama format on YouTube in Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and other countries, the news agency said.
