Given what's at stake in the Middle East this week, with a range of outcomes possible, the Aussie could lead the way for markets. Westpac says traders are being bombarded by mutually contradictory headlines--aggressive escalation rhetoric alongside cease-fire proposals. Through this noise, the Aussie has carved out a fragile pocket of stability, but the stability is not a source of reassurance, Westpac adds. The Australian dollar is at US$0.6920.
