Tesla (TSLA) Chief Executive Elon Musk's xAI has filed a lawsuit against the State of Colorado regarding a new artificial intelligence bill aimed at protecting consumers from "algorithmic discrimination", court filings showed Thursday.
xAI alleges that the bill "severely burdens the development and use of AI" and is seeking an injunction to block its implementation, claiming it violates the First Amendment of the US Constitution.
The company claims that the bill "seeks to force xAI to abandon its disinterested pursuit of truth and instead promote the State's ideological views on various matters, racial justice in particular."
"Its provisions prohibit developers of AI systems from producing speech that the State of Colorado dislikes, while compelling them to conform their speech to a State-enforced orthodoxy on controversial topics of great public concern," xAI said in the lawsuit.
The Colorado attorney general's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
