Aluminum of China Forecasts Up to 58% Rise in Q1 Profit; Shares Jump 7%

Aluminum of China (SHA:601600, HKG:2600), or Chalco, forecasted first-quarter attributable net profit of between 5.30 billion yuan and 5.59 billion yuan, up between 50% and 58% from 3.54 billion yuan the previous year.

Basic earnings per share will rise to between 0.310 yuan and 0.326 yuan from last year's 0.206 yuan, according to a filing with the Shanghai bourse.

Shares of the aluminum producer rose 7% in recent trade on the Shanghai bourse.
