Weight Watchers will not appoint an interim chief executive and will instead continue with its current "Office of the CEO" structure overseen by a committee including Chief Financial Officer Felicia DellaFortuna and Chief Operations Officer Jon Volkmann.

"The Board believes the current structure provides strong, experienced leadership and continuity in the Office of CEO," the company said.

A leading executive search firm is conducting the search for a permanent CEO.

Former chief executive Tara Comonte resigned on March 31, sparking a leadership change that comes as the company is coping with the rise of weight-loss drugs.

With the drugs dragging down demand for its dieting and food points program, Weight Watchers has pivoted to incorporate GLP-1s into its platform.
