Yum China's (YUM) KFC and BYD signed an agreement Wednesday to develop a network of 9-minute, one-stop electric charging and dining locations across China.

BYD said in a post on its WeChat account that the partnership will integrate flash-charging technology, in-vehicle ordering and KFC's car-side pickup service.

The smart ordering feature allows users to order food through the cars infotainment system and collect it while charging their vehicles, the company said.

BYD said the system will debut on its Formula Leopard Titanium 7 model before expanding across its broader lineup, while charging infrastructure will be integrated at select KFC locations.

Vehicles can charge from 10% to 97% in about nine minutes while customers collect meals, according to a Google translation of the post.
