Paramount Skydance is launching its own publishing imprint called Paramount Global Publishing.
The publishing imprint will operate under the media company's products and experiences division and will develop complementary publishing content inspired by Paramount's portfolio of brands.
It also will generate new intellectual property through the creation of original stories, Paramount said Wednesday.
Paramount will oversee direct development, creation and production of the Paramount Global Publishing books, with sales and distribution into the retail market to be handled by a partner, who is yet to be named.
Paramount also will continue its licensing strategy, partnering with publishers and distributors.
The new business will launch first in the U.S. and Canada with plans to expand to other markets in the future.
Amy Jarashow, head of global publishing, will lead the division.
