Advanced APAC Economies Likely to Cool, But Show Some Resilience -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-10

0014 GMT - Growth in Asia-Pacific's most mature economies remains resilient on strong AI demand but will likely moderate on the impact of the MidEast war and tariffs, ADB says. GDP expansion in Taiwan will normalize in 2027 after surging in 2025 and 2026 on a boom in AI-related exports. Singapore's trade remains resilient but is expected to moderate as the first full year of U.S. tariffs and rising protectionism weigh on sectors other than electronics, ADB says in a report. Domestic and external demand alike are both set to ease in Hong Kong. Other economies like South Korea, Australia and New Zealand are expected to remain largely stable over the forecast horizon.
