** Shares of Australia's American Uranium AMU.AX fall as much as 10.3% to A$0.13, their biggest intraday pct drop since March 12
** The uranium explorer says it would raise A$2.64 million ($1.86 million) through share placement
** Offer price of A$0.12 per share represents a 17.2% discount, as of firm's last close
** Company says funds to be used for further expansion, drilling at its Lo Herma ISR uranium project in the United States
** Stock down 6.9% YTD, including day's moves
