U.S. Oil Rig Count Unchanged This Week At 411 -- Market Talk
Dow Jones04-11 01:31
1330 ET - The number of rigs drilling for oil in the U.S. was steady this week at 411, and down by 61 from a year ago, oil services company Baker Hughes reports. Rigs directed at natural gas fell by three to 127, or 22 more than a year ago. The EIA expects that higher oil prices brought on by the war in the Middle East will eventually lead to more drilling in the U.S., raising production in 2027 to 13.8 million barrels a day from 13.5 million b/d this year. Production was a record 13.6 million b/d in 2025.(anthony.harrup@wsj.com)
