Airline and cruise operator stocks advanced following the overnight US-Iran ceasefire deal that boosted investor confidence and lowered geopolitical risk.

Carnival (CCL) soared 11%, with intraday trading volume climbing to more than 32.3 million shares from a daily average of about 24.7 million shares.

United Airlines (UAL) advanced 10% as intraday trading volume jumped to more than 11 million shares from a daily average of roughly 7.1 million.

Micron Technology (MU) and Sandisk (SNDK) shares were advancing after fellow memory chipmaker Samsung Electronics projected increased Q1 sales and profits.

Micron jumped 8% after intraday trading volume rose to about 32.8 million compared with a daily average of about 40.9 million.

Sandisk shares advanced 11%, with intraday trading volume at over 12.5 million, versus a daily average of roughly 19.8 million.
