Amazon-Backed Anthropic Launches Claude Opus 4.7

Amazon (AMZN)-backed Anthropic said Thursday it launched the Claude Opus 4.7 model for advanced coding across all Claude products, Amazon Bedrock, Alphabet's (GOOG/GOOGL) Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Microsoft (MSFT) Foundry.

The new model provides considerable improvement relative to Opus 4.6 in terms of agentic coding, reasoning, financial analysis, and visual reasoning, but has the same price point, according to a statement.

Opus 4.7 was launched with safeguards that auto-detect and block requests indicating high-risk cybersecurity uses, the company said.

Amazon has invested around $8 billion in Anthropic for a minority stake.
