Sonoco Products' board has nudged up its quarterly dividend by 1.9%, to 54 cents from 53 cents, raising the packaging company's dividend for a 43rd straight year.
The new quarterly rate, equal to $2.16 a year, represents an annual yield of about 3.98% based on Wednesday's recent trading price of $54.24, up from around 3.91%.
The Hartsville, S.C., company said the increased dividend is payable June 10 to shareholders as of May 8.
