Aster DM Healthcare (NSE:ASTERDM, BOM:540975) has completed the expansion of its women and children facility at its Aster Whitefield Hospital in Bengaluru, India, with an investment of 960 million Indian rupees, according to a Monday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.
With this expansion, Aster Whitefield's bed capacity increased to 539 beds from 380.
The dedicated 159-bed Aster Women and Children facility will feature specialized maternity care.
The expansion also boosts Aster's total capacity in the state of Karnataka to 2,573 beds.
The company's shares were down nearly 2% in recent trade.
