Quick-Service Restaurants Take Biggest Hit as GLP-1 Users Pare Visits, Survey Says -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-16

1913 ET [Dow Jones]--Those who use GLP-1 drugs tend to cut back on eating out, getting restaurant food an average of 4.9 days a month after starting the medication, down from 9.8 days per month previously, William Blair analysts say in a note, citing a recent survey they conducted. Quick-service restaurants such as Wingstop and Chipotle have taken the biggest hit, while visit frequency at coffee shops like Black Rock Coffee Bar has fared better, the analysts say. Some restaurant chains have seen their frequency declines improve since the analysts' last survey, suggesting the companies' pivots to focus on protein or smaller plates could be drawing GLP-1 users, the analysts say.
