Market Chatter: Johnson Controls Mulling Sale of Businesses Worth $4.5 Billion

MT Newswires Live04-16

Johnson Controls International (JCI) is exploring the potential sale of its access control and intrusion detection businesses worth up to $4.5 billion, Bloomberg reported late Wednesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

The company will try to sell the businesses separately, but could also divest them to a single suitor, the people told the media outlet.

Discussions remain in an early stage, and the company might retain one or both units, sources told Bloomberg.

Johnson Controls did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
