Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI intends to start pricing some ChatGPT ads based on whether people click on the ads as opposed to how many people see them, The Information reported Wednesday, citing an agency executive who spoke with OpenAI staff and who works with ChatGPT advertisers.
The company also plans to introduce ads seeking to get people to take specific actions, like downloading an app or making a purchase, the report said, citing the executive.
OpenAI didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
