The president of the European Commission stressed the need to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, without directly responding to President Trump's plan to impose a naval blockade on Iranian ports.
"The ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz is greatly damaging, and the restoration of freedom of navigation is of paramount importance for us," Ursula von der Leyen said at a news conference.
