Cloudflare shares climbed after the cloud connectivity company unveiled improvements to tools that will enable developers to build and deploy artificial intelligence agents.
The stock was up 9% $181.83 in midday trading on Monday. Shares have risen 70% in the past year.
Cloudflare said Agent Cloud will provide developers with infrastructure, computing, deployment and security tools for designing AI agents, which are models that can code, reason and complete tasks autonomously. While most AI development has focused on chatbots in recent years, autonomous agents are the future of AI innovation, Cloudflare said.
One of Cloudflare's tools will give AI agents their own computers through an isolated Linux environment, the company said. Cloudflare executives said they want their tools to enable people to run dozens of personal agents simultaneously.
