Shuangdeng (HKG:6960) said it will invest in a project to produce semi-solid-state energy storage cells and system integration for artificial intelligence data centers, according to an April 10 Hong Kong bourse filing.
Shares of the energy storage batteries maker were up nearly 7% in Monday morning trade.
The company has signed an agreement with the administrative committee of Jiangsu Xuyi Economic Development Zone to develop the project, which will have an annual capacity of 12 gigawatt-hours (GWh).
The investment will be rolled out in phases and aims to support growing demand for energy storage services in AI data centers.
