Apple Prevails as ITC Rejects Masimo's Push to Reinstate Import Ban on Apple Watches

Apple (AAPL) won a key victory after the US International Trade Commission rejected Masimo's (MASI) bid to reinstate an import ban on Apple Watch models, according to a ruling issued Friday.

The ITC closed the case after declining to review a preliminary ruling that Apple's redesigned watches do not infringe Masimo patents covering blood oxygen reading technology.

Masimo can appeal the decision to the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Reuters reported.

The companies remain locked in broader litigation over pulse oximetry technology and trade secret claim, Reuters said.

Apple and Masimo did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
