Baird has recruited an Indiana investment advisory team from Goelzer Investment Management, where they managed about $1 billion. The HWB Partners group joined Baird's Indianapolis office.

The team is led by directors Don Hutchinson, Dean Weseli, and Jeff Borgert, veteran advisors each with more than two decades of industry experience. Client assistants Megan French and Angela Morphew also joined Baird in the move.

"Don, Dean, and Jeff have built a collaborative practice grounded in long-term client relationships, strong investment capabilities, and specialized advisory services," says Jim Willbrand, branch manager of Baird's Indianapolis office.

Goelzer Investment Management didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on the team's departure.

Baird's Private Wealth Management business caters to high-net-worth individuals and families, with more than 1,400 advisors overseeing more than $375 billion in client assets as of the end of last year.

A Baird spokeswoman says the recruiting pipeline is "strong," and notes the firm offers advisors a combination of "independence with having all the resources of a wirehouse firm."

HWB Partners served 155 clients at Goezler, a mix of ultrahigh-net-worth individuals and institutions such as nonprofits and endowments.

Hutchinson first registered as an investment advisor with Merrill Lynch in 2002. He had a brief stint at Salomon Smith Barney and joined J.P. Morgan Securities in 2004. In 2007, he moved to Goezler Investment Management, where he recently served as chief growth officer, according to Baird.

Weseli's first investment advisor registration dates to 2007, with Strategic Advisors. He moved on to stints with Schwab and two other firms before joining Goezler in 2019. At Goezler, he served as a director of the firm's G--PRO Sports division, which advises professional athletes. He is a Registered Player Financial Advisor, a designation administered by the NFL Players Association.

Borgert first registered as a broker with John Hancock Distributors in 1998. He moved to McDonald Investments that same year and registered as an investment advisor in 2001. After a 12-year stint at Stifel, Nicolaus, he joined Goezler in 2017 and dropped his brokerage registration.
