In Confirmation Hearing For Fed Chair, Warsh May Push Against Business as Usual -- Market Talk
Dow Jones04-18 00:17
1217 ET - Kevin Warsh may suggest an openness to reviewing or amending some long-standing Fed practices in his confirmation hearing next week, Deutsche Bank's Matthew Luzzetti writes. The Fed chair nominee has been a firm advocate for shrinking the Fed's balance sheet. That probably can't happen overnight, but Warsh might discuss plans to launch a comprehensive review process, Luzzetti writes. Warsh has also been critical of the Fed's use on forward guidance; he may propose tweaks to the Fed's dot plot forecasts, although Luzzetti believes they will not be eliminated entirely.
