European Equities Pull Back After Second Vessel Struck in Strait of Hormuz -- Market Talk

0910 GMT - European stock indexes retreat from early gains after reports that a second vessel was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude oil rises just shy of $100 a barrel, weighing on energy-sensitive stocks. The Europe-wide Stoxx 600 pares early gains to trade flat in later morning European trade. The German DAX also trades flat as Siemens gives up some early gains, while the French CAC 40 slides to a 0.2% fall as luxury stocks slip, with sector bellwether LVMH down 1.6%. Spain's IBEX 35 flips from a 0.5% gain at the open to fall 0.3% as banks slip, while the Italian FTSE MIB edges down 0.05%. In London, the FTSE 100 is flat as oil majors rise.
