0141 GMT - BHP's 3Q result is "better than it looks, but not clean," RBC Capital Markets analyst Kaan Peker says in a note. "Iron ore did the heavy lifting," he says. Peker highlights better-than-expected realized prices across commodities, which he says help mask a mixed operational outcome. In copper, Antamina is the standout, outperforming on both grades and throughput, says Peker. "The issue is Spence," he says. Recoveries and production there are worse than he expects. Peker adds that the "balance sheet is the quiet positive," while proceeds from the Wheaton streaming deal should support capital returns. RBC has a sector perform rating and A$56/share target on BHP. Shares are up 0.7% at A$55.90. (rhiannon.hoyle@wsj.com; @RhiannonHoyle)
