Dow Jones08:58
0058 GMT - BHP's 3Q iron-ore and copper production is broadly in line with expectations, says Morgan Stanley analyst Rahul Anand. Iron ore production of 62.8 million tons is 0.3% higher than MS expected and 0.1% above consensus, he says. Copper output of 476,800 tons is 0.2% above MS's estimate although 0.9% below consensus, he says. BMA steelmaking coal production, on the other hand, misses consensus by 7.9% on wet weather and ongoing geotechnical challenges at Broadmeadow, Anand says. MS has an overweight rating and A$57.50 target on BHP. Shares are up 1.2% at A$56.20. (rhiannon.hoyle@wsj.com; @RhiannonHoyle)
