Arovella Therapeutics (ASX:ALA) said a recent notice from shareholder The Trust Company (Australia) calling for a general meeting to appoint three directors is considered invalid, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The company disclosed the notice on April 10, saying the shareholder holds more than 5% of voting shares.
Arovella Therapeutics said the notice "cannot be lawfully effected at a general meeting," and it has invited the shareholder to formally withdraw the invalid notice.
It added that its board has sought to meet with the director nominees, but its requests were declined.
