Fed Might Cut Rates More Than Market Currently Expects -- Market Talk

Dow Jones13:12

0512 GMT - Markets might be underestimating the prospects of interest-rate cuts the Federal Reserve might carry out this year, Danske Bank's Kirstine Kundby-Nielsen and Jens Peter Sorensen say in a note. "We expect two additional rate cuts of 0.25 percentage points in September and December, respectively, which is more than markets are currently expecting," the analysts say. Money markets currently price in only 9 basis points of rate cuts for 2026, according to LSEG. (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
