Suntec REIT May Unlock Value With Hongkong Land as Shareholder -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-24 13:31

0531 GMT - Suntec REIT may undergo value-unlocking with Hongkong Land as a shareholder, RHB Research's Vijay Natarajan says in a research report. Hongkong Land acquired a 11% stake in the REIT in March at a substantial premium to prior day's closing price, indicating confidence in the REIT's intrinsic value, the analyst says. This move coincides with the REIT's new sponsor unveiling a strategic review that aims at strengthening portfolio performance and enhancing capital efficiency. RHB Research increases its 2026 and 2027 distribution-per-unit estimates for the REIT by 4% and 3%, respectively, to partly reflect lower finance cost assumptions. It raises the unit's target price to S$1.72 from S$1.67 with an unchanged buy rating. Units are 1.3% higher at S$1.51. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
