1454 ET - U.S. natural gas futures extend their winning streak to six sessions, although gains are small in the low-demand spring season. "The underlying U.S. picture still reflects a market that is not tight enough to sustain higher prices," Gelber & Associates says in a note. "The forward weather pattern introduces some support, with a cooler bias into early May expected to lift heating demand modestly, but the absence of cooling demand continues to cap total consumption." Thursday's weekly storage data are expected to show a widening of the inventory surplus over the five-year average, keeping a lid on price upside. Nymex natural gas settles up 0.9% at $2.722/mmBtu.
