Singapore Dividend Stocks Could Attract More Interest -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-22 12:02

0402 GMT - Greater clarity on dividend policies among companies listed in Singapore is likely to boost investors' focus on and positioning in dividend stocks, says DBS Group Research in commentary. Singapore Exchange Regulation started a public consultation on enhanced disclosures for value creation, which could require companies to detail dividend policies. Companies under DBS's coverage that could see more interest are Genting Singapore, Venture and China Aviation Oil (Singapore), the bank says. These companies don't have official dividend policies but are in net cash positions and could offer forward dividend yields of around 5%, DBS says. (megan.cheah@wsj.com)
