China's installed power generation capacity rose 15.5% year over year to 3.96 billion kilowatts at the end of March, according to the National Energy Administration.
Solar power went up 31.3% to 1.24 billion kW, while wind power climbed 22.4% to 660 million kW.
Utilization hours declined 66 hours to 703 in the first quarter.
