Bitcoin Rises After Weekend Profit-Taking -- Market Talk

Dow Jones00:09

1209 ET - Bitcoin is up 1.4% to above $75,600, according to data from LSEG. Bitcoin fell back from $78,000 to $74,000 over the weekend, which analysts attributed to profit-taking, says Linh Tran of XS.com in a note. Bitcoin is rising back above the $75,000 in trading seen as cautious. "This price action highlights a familiar pattern in the current crypto market environment: strong responsiveness to macro catalysts, but a lack of sustained capital flows to maintain a trend," says Tran. Tran forecasts bitcoin to consolidate between $70,000 and $78,000 in the short-term. (kirk.maltais@wsj.com)
