0823 ET - American Airlines Chief Executive Robert Isom says the idea of a merger with United Airlines was "a non-starter from the get-go." While the executive refused to confirm whether United had approached American about a combination, he told CNBC that he was sure most regulators would see antitrust problems with a merger of that size. "There's no way to view that as anything but anti-competitive," he said. The comments come after President Trump said he wouldn't be in favor of a United-American combo.
