DOJ Ends Investigation Into Fed Chair Powell, Paving the Way for Warsh Confirmation -- Barrons.com

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced Friday that her office is closing a criminal investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's handling of the renovation of two historic central bank buildings in Washington, D.C.

This clears the path for the Senate to move to confirm President Donald Trump's nominee, Kevin Warsh, as the next Fed chair. His confirmation was set to be delayed after Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) vowed to block any Fed nominee until the Department of Justice's investigations into Powell concluded.
