Microsoft (MSFT) and other cloud providers have stockpiled Nvidia (NVDA) graphics processing units, putting pressure on well-funded AI startups to obtain the remaining GPUs at higher prices, The Information reported Friday, citing a person with direct knowledge of the matter as well as company founders and investors.
In response to the shortage, General Catalyst's Hemant Taneja sent a survey to founders asking about their ability to access compute, the report said, citing the person.
Microsoft, Nvidia and General Catalyst didn't immediately reply to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
