Iran's top leaders issued nearly identical statements within minutes of each other on Thursday declaring unity behind the country's supreme leader-an unusual show of synchronized messaging that appeared to counter President Donald Trump's claim that Tehran's power structure is riven by internal divisions.
"We are all Iranian and revolutionary... With full obedience to the Supreme Leader, we will make the aggressor regret its actions," Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran's parliament speaker and top negotiator, wrote on social media, adding: "One God, one leader, one nation, and one path-the path of victory."
A minute later, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian posted almost identical wording on X-an unusual synchronization in messaging at the top of Iran's political leadership.
Trump said earlier Thursday that Iran is facing internal divisions over its leadership, describing a struggle between "hardliners," who he said are sustaining heavy battlefield losses, and "moderates," whom he noted are gaining increasing recognition.
"Iran is having a very hard time figuring out who their leader is! They just don't know!" Trump posted on Truth Social.
