Shares of Comfort Systems USA rose after the company boosted its quarterly dividend and recorded a $1 billion jump in revenue.
Shares were up 7.1% to $1,900.00 in after-hours trading Thursday. The stock closed up 2.9%, at $1,773.91, during the regular trading session.
The provider of commercial and industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning services on Thursday reported a profit of $370.4 million, or $10.51 a share, compared with its profit of $169.3 million, or $4.75 a share, a year earlier.
Revenue rose to $2.87 billion, up from $1.83 billion in the year-ago quarter.
Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting a reported profit of $6.59 a share on revenue of $2.39 billion.
The company also raised its dividend 14% to 80 cents a share, up from 70 cents.
The new payout, equal to $3.20 a year, represents an annual yield of about 0.18% based on Thursday's closing price.
The dividend will be paid May 26 to shareholders of record as of May 15.
