TSMC Unit Buys Corporate Bonds Worth Nearly $27 Million; Shares Rise 4%

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TPE:2330), or TSMC, unit TSMC Global acquired corporate bonds worth $26.8 million, according to a Thursday Taiwan Exchange filing.

Shares rose over 4% in Friday's late morning trade.

The purchase involved 270,000 units priced at $99.36 each, as part of the group's fixed income investment strategy.

Following the transaction, TSMC's cumulative holdings of the bonds reached about $209.7 million.
