Jefferies Keeps Betting on Two Fed Rate Cuts -- Market Talk

Dow Jones14:01

0601 GMT - Jefferies affirms its expectations of two interest-rate cuts by the Federal Reserve, global economist Mohit Kumar says after Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's confirmation hearing on Tuesday. Warsh supported lower rates and smaller balance sheet, broadly in line with market expectations, Kumar says. "Our view remains that a Warsh led Fed would be more dovish on the rates front," he says. "We maintain our call for two rate cuts from the Fed, though we acknowledge that the two cuts may not happen this year." (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
