President Trump discussed Iran's new proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz with his national security team on Monday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters.
Over the weekend, Iran offered the U.S. a deal in which Washington would lift its blockade of Iranian ports and Tehran would allow ships to move through the strategic waterway, leaving discussions about Iran's nuclear work for later in the diplomatic process. Leavitt said that Trump's red lines on Iran remain clear and that the president might address the situation soon.
