HubSpot (HUBS), Adobe (ADBE), Salesforce (CRM), and other software companies have begun charging customers extra for artificial intelligence usage instead of flat subscription fees, The Information reported Sunday, citing data collected by Kyle Poyar.
The report said 79 of 500 companies tracked by the monitor were charging customers additional fees based on AI usage by the end of 2025, more than double the number in 2024.
Atlassian (TEAM), Workday (WDAY), and ServiceNow (NOW) are introducing or increasing usage-based pricing to make up for the increased costs of AI, the report said.
Amazon-backed (AMZN) Anthropic and Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI are also redoing their pricing schemes to charge more based on AI consumption, the report said.
The companies did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
